Delivery

There's a vehicle it comes up
The driveway and stops
At my door
He gets out
Slides the back
Of the van open
Stands, back to me.
Waiting in open door
I know what’s coming
Then sign to confirm that
The package arrived.
Turning I move to go inside
But on a whim turn
And call out to him:
“Do you feel like Santa
at this time of Year?”
Giggling quietly I carry
The box inside, suddenly
Struck by the meaning:
A package expected
Even needed
But not ever wanted
And wished that no child
Or home had to get
Diabetic supplies.

Awww Gracie... I agree - no child or family should need to have diabetes... or cancer... or any other illness/disease. Sometimes we don't have a choice. Please know I'm thinking of you, your son and your whole family. Love you all lots.

Wow. You got me. I was buying into the whole Santa/time of year thing and then - reality check. I've missed you and your words.

I hear you Gracie -feeling your pain, literally.

My Jacob asked for a "skin" for his meter this year for Christmas. I had to tell him that since we buy the generic test strips the generic meter he uses doesn't make skins... I felt so pathetic.

Praying for your deliveries here.. want to read about something exciting? Read this:
