Thank you all for your empathic expressions of shock! My sanity did take a body blow but all is not lost. Although the loss of a stable job is tough, I'm very fortunate to still have a source of (albeit variable) income: Agency Nursing! yeeha! Flexible, Challenging, (spy) missions that involve waiting by the phone then traveling to anywhere within an hour's drive radius to unknown facilities where there are wild opportunities for learning (or further mental breakdown).
OWWW!
May God give you extra grace to face the range of emotions that have come and will come.
I hope things are sorting themselves out and that your Christmas was a happy one and that 2008 brings you much joy and many adventures.
