Stir Crazy!!

gracie's little girl is recovering from surgery to remove her appendix, and gracie has the flu! The jigsaw is nearly done (1000 pieces!) and we're about to play Monopoly...

time slows up
inside the house
where jigsaw pieces
scattered over coffee tables
littered with tissues
discarded after fits
of coughing lie with
empty cups sticky
with lemon and honey
waiting
like everyone else
for this
to pass

Stumbeling aroud the blogs tonight and thought I would check in. get well soon. Sometimes sickness feels like our body saying time to sit down......of course...when the kids are sick at the same time it feels like God is upset with you. Last time my sons and I were sick at the same time it was fairly miserable. take care.

Indeed. It is my mother's motto: This too shall pass.

Our bodies have so much to tell us.
Praying spoons for you as well.

trent... thanks for the well wishes! my kids have recovered quickly but I'm still languishing!!

lee... yes, at times like these I am grateful for impermanence.

hope... so lovely to see you here. gracie needs some hope today! I'm not much liking what my body is telling me...

btw, my hubby thinks the poem is incomplete without the word 'wind' to conclude. haha

Hi Gracie! I hope you and your daughter are feeling better with each day. I love how you said that time slows up (instead of down) -- this is cool.
